I don’t know about Chelsea’s finances to be honest but are they taking out high interest loans on future TV earnings? If not don’t compare what they have done to what we are doing which could very realistically leave us in the Shìt.

They ain’t pumping their own money in they are taking out pay day loans… that’s never a good idea.

If what you are saying is we should finish mid-table. then after pumping the money they have done and selling good young prospects while mortgaging our future. How does that compare with what Levy done for us over his tenure?

Once again, amnesia. We finished 17th in Levy’s last full season in charge, on 38 points. Not 6th, not 9th, not even 12th — 17th. A position we hadn’t finished in decades.

Another unwanted hallmark of Levy’s legacy is that he somehow managed to convince a section of the fanbase — especially on this forum — that spending money is inherently a bad thing. We’ve become so risk-averse that some fans seem to think it’s more important to win the net-spend league than the actual league.

Our last six league finishes under Levy were: 6th, 7th, 4th, 8th, 5th and 17th. Is that really what progression looks like, particularly after finishing no lower than 5th throughout Poch’s reign?

I find it incredible that people are happy to credit Levy for the good work he did earlier in his tenure, yet absolve him of any responsibility for the degradation of the squad over the last few seasons. That degradation is, in part, why we’re in this mess in the first place: poor recruitment, poor squad building and a failure to adequately replace the quality we lost.
