When he rejected us first time, I never wanted him second time. If you take a player that rejects you then it’s clear that they never really want to be there. It was a stupid mistake by us, stupid desperate mistake.

Desperation is the key word. We were desperate this summer as well but we moved earlier and instead got the players we wanted but just paid a premium to do so.
 
Smacks of making excuses to me. Basic levels of pride, let alone a sportsman’s professional pride, would suggest he’d be able to show his best at some point in a full season. We’ve all played the game to some level and if you’ve played brick you make a conscious effort to stop embarrassing yourself the next time and put the effort in! Does not wanting to be here mean you can’t trap a ball, pass, etc.?

he just wasn’t that good and massively overrated by some before he arrived.

Could not agree more, some fans are always going on about our poor signings but IMO he was one of the worst.

All the personal pride part might be true but he's significantly better than what he showed for us.

I'm not trying to make a defense for him, but the guy tried, however it just took one thing to not work and the head would drop, then the whole performance spiraled.

It's the sort of thing I saw reffing U10s football, but never before in top level professional matches.

Shows that tenacity / grit/ perseverance are kind of key, obviously you need the talent to go with it. Looks like a player who will end up moving to a much lower profile league, and still make a career out of it but not be anywhere the clubs he's represented before.

A player is as good as he plays. If I was petty and had nothing to do I'd find a post where you were certain he was better than our current forwards, him stepping up and taking their place was a given. I could be misremembering of course, by CV Muani is an outstanding talent however the here and now is important. Nothing against him but I'd have Dom, Tel or Solanke, even Werner who was good in his first spell over him because they have strength of mind and character. Perhaps we didn't see the real player, and there's other factors at play but he had enough chances (not earned but out of absolute necessity).

Oh I absolutely think he's better than the forwards we have but he didn't perform better than them so at the end of the day he was no better than them for us.

I'm not really a believer or advocator of reputation over reality. I believe what I see on the pitch so I have 0 problem saying that Muani was brick for us because he was, but that doesn't make him a brick player. Just one who was uninterested in playing for us and that is of course unprofessional but that isn't going to make me pretend I don't know his qualities and the abilities I've seen with my own eyes pre his spell at Spurs.

I'll be honest, I see this as a major failure of management. It was their job to make him engage for the season and present the perspectives necessary to motivate performances out of him.
It is clear RDZ rated him highly and such a shame he didn't have him for several months as I think he knows how to whisper to those he rates.
The Muani we saw against PSG is the player I know.
At the time I still think it was a great last min option given the injury to Solanke, and a shame it could not work out.

p.s. I was angry at first at his comments, but on reflection, I commend him for being honest and not trying to flimflam us with emptiness and small lies about 'carrying a knock', etc.

It's also his job as a professional footballer to be, well, a professional footballer!
No one held a gun to head to sign - he could have stayed at Juve and fought for his place; instead he chose to not give a fudge here - so fudge him.

Oh I see that too, absolutely, and feel largely tinkled off at his utter ambivalence as we stumbled towards the trap door.
