Straight swap, surely.
Yeah, that would work.
Bet MGW isn't happy. Marinakis brings in £116m for Anderson and makes MGW waste another season with Forest.

Perhaps we can P/X Bergvall plus Solomon for MGW?!

They just sold Anderson for £116M so they don’t need to sell anyone now.
Elliot Anderson literally plays at the same club and went to the World Cup. Foden and Palmer are at big clubs and didn't go, the manager didn't not take him because he plays for Forest whether you agree with his decision or not....That was my point as well. MGW is 26 and in his prime. No way he's missing out on the World Cup if he's plying his trade at one of the big clubs. I have a horrible feeling he's gonna get trapped at Forest for yet another season. MGW needs to manage his career better.

Eze and MGW are quite different style players - Eze is a creator, whereas MGW is more of a direct goalscorerYeah, it's not black and white, but Eze was chosen ahead of him and plays for the big club.
Elliott Anderson is in the same bucket as Rice, Hendo and Mainoo. Don't think it's anything to do with MGW as he can't play the deeper role. We've struggled their for years in the deeper position with Phillips and even Winks making up numbers.
A little further forward, it gets messy. Bellingham and Rogers are clearly first picks (fighting for one shirt) currently but it does get me wondering how MGW would be perceived if he had played Rogers role for Villa this season. Both game changers in my opinion. Ditto with Eze. If Goons had MGW in that attacking midfield role, does he get better stats than Eze (7 league goals, 2 assists). MGW got 15 and 4 and Rogers got 10 and 4.
I guess it was a close call for Tuchel, but he clearly chose Eze over MGW. That could be big club bias but it could also be because Eze's playing bias is the left channel and MGW's is the right.
Either way, MGW needs to get himself out of Forest. I'd love him at Spurs.
I get your point but playing at the bigger reputation clubs is without doubt a bonus. You're abilities are better exposed and the assumption always that performing at a top club is harder than doing the same at a smaller or lower performing club (I don't agree, but that narrative definetly exists). Now whether that would have a made a difference for MGW this season is impossible to say, but if he had put in the same performances and had the same g/a output at Emirates Marketing Project or Arsenal or even Liverpool this season he'd very likely be in the squad.Elliot Anderson literally plays at the same club and went to the World Cup.
