World Cup 2026: Mexico, USA and Canada

Not sure I understand that. I get the 'double jeopardy' thing which means a yellow can be given when a penalty is awarded, but that's only if a genuine attempt is made to play the ball isn't it? Which he didn't do in this case. So if the contact had been inside the box, and a penalty given, it should have been a red card as well?
Whereas the commentators are saying it was red +free kick because it was outside the box, but would have been yellow + penalty inside the box - at least I think thats what they were saying - which makes no sense.

Yeah that's what Unkel said. Might be a FIFA rule/ PGMOL thing. Definitely had that attempt to play the ball in the Prem.

3-0 Canada.

It’s great except the concessions are disappointing. The same generic spot with the game drink and food selection.

$835 for Category D although we we front of our row with a railing in front. Annoyingly there were 2 empty seats next to us as well. It’s still money but a once in a lifetime moment to see England in a World Cup opening game in your now adopted country.

I think I paid 7/6d for my ticket for the England v Uruguay opening game of 1966 World Cup, definitely the worst game I had every seen at that time, but I never learnt from that mistake and went to the Mexico v Uruguay game an other 0-0 bore draw.

Yes indeed, if you can, you must and you did!
In fairness I never checked out the concessions; but it's a really great stadium. I think the only two in the US I've been to which are better are Sofi (really something special) and the revamped Giants Stadium, simply because of the steepness of the stands to the floor/pitch. Seattle's is another fave for the same reason...

Just found out Allan Smith is on the world feed so thankfully not on in the UK but Dixon....

How da feck do all these loathsome Goons keep getting jobs on TV 🙉 enough to make me want to defund the Beeb when I see Walclam and Giroud on there!

Hopefully broadcasters will take the hint after backlash following AFTNT’s coverage of CL final and at least try to provide some balanced coverage of next season’s PL matches🤞 The only ASSnal player I don’t mind listening to is Ian Wright.
