***OMT - Tottenham Hotspur v Chelsea, Tue May 19th, 8.15pm, Stamford Bridge ***

Let's hope the players have cooler heads than the majority of us on here! It's a shame we couldn't get the job done tonight but, more than ever, we remain in control of our destiny. West Ham have to win. They are very capable of that, but that's not a given either. Many people thought they'd walk all over Saudi Sportswashing Machine and at the end of the night, their nerves got the better of them.

Then we have to get something out of the Everton game. We'll have to do better than tonight, but we have a decent record against them and if the players can handle the pressure, they have the ability to get the result we need. It won't be easy, it probably won't be pretty but the relegation is ours to avoid.

Personally, I didn't learn anything new tonight. We haven't been doing well for a long, long time. Hopefully, that's the kick up the backside they need before Sunday.

And we do so well with pressure and at home. Can see it now. Spam score with 5min to go and we have to get a goal . Word gets around with the crowd........
We know how this ends.

I wouldn't blame RDZ though
RDZ certainly won't be a major factor in our relegation. There are a lot of people who deserve severe abuse on Sunday and he isn't one of them.

I think he's been great. His team have been a decent watch given what he has available and he's conducted himself brilliantly. He dragged us out of the bottom 3 when most people thought we were dead and buried. However, if we go down, it'll ultimately be because we've taken 1 point from 9 and lost our last two when we needed just one point. That'll potentially take some of the new manager sheen off him, rightly or wrongly.

To get us to the edge of safety and blow it will be a nightmare for him and for the reputation of the club. Sunday is fudging huge on so many levels for us.

I think I may have spotted the flaw in your plan.

1 point from 9? Lost our last 2?

4 from 9 and we didn't lose against Leeds?

I sometimes post when not in the right frame of mind and I have supported Spurs for so long I shouldn`t be surprised at where we are right now but I actually think my 2 sons must think why did my Dad support Spurs. They are both getting so much brick from various social media platforms tonight now that Arsenal have won the title and we are not safe from relegation. I`ve always said to them I doubt I will ever see us win a title in my lifetime but I really thought that moving into the new stadium would give us the financial might to compete with the best in europe. I know we won the Europa league last year but the truth is our league form has been on a downward slide since 2019. I`m pretty much lost for words, a club of our size should be nowhere a relegation battle. Look at Bournemouth, Brentford and Brighton its unbelievable that they look so much better than us this season. And it will take us years to turn our fortunes around. I could moan on all night but lets hope Everton are on the beach on sunday and West ham are actually more brick than us.
COYS!!!!

I told you all season we don't have the players.....

I was meaning more because of the extent of our injuries. He literally can’t bring anyone on in attack except a Maddison that has been out for the entire season. We’re forced to play Kolo Muani on the right, there’s no Xavi, no Odobert, no Solanke. We have to play Richarlison the entire game. There’s obviously no Deki. And the geniuses sold Brennan for no reason. Jesus Christ I haven’t even mentioned Kudus.

I think if we could have made a couple more subs in attack rather than shifting Tel out of position and hoping Spence can bring the energy from left back, we may have been able to do something tonight.

So this is no way to stop all this grappling in the penalty area. If you are only going to apply it after the corner is taken then they will all grapple until that point.

To stop it they need to make it that any excessive grappling in the box at corners in the act of a corner being taken can result in a penalty. I dont see our players grappling like that at corners.

I think we need to take this game out of the equation. This game is different. We never win there. It's got a hex on us.

If we go back to the other games under RDZ, I think we get a draw easily. It will be bricking pants, throwing glasses, and scaring the family into thinking I'm a mentally unstable psycho, but I do think at full time we will be safe.

Was hoping my run of not watching would result in a result
Sounds like RKM and Palhina were poor
Always think teams with passers in midfield can bypass Palhina
RKM just sounds like he didn’t want ti be there which I guess is true
Palhinha was no better or worse than anyone else today apart from Muani who was terrible. And tbf Palhinha has driven us forward so many times this season that, for me, he gets a pass today. Up front was where the problems were before Madders came on. Given the attacking players that were missing today and have been missing most of the season, it’s probably not surprising we have struggled up front. I think just having Maddison, Kudus and Solanke back would make a huge difference.

Madders is taking on the air of a Pirlo (as well as the look!)...I would resist starting him on Sunday, instead I'd trust this lot to keep it tight through HT and then bring him on second-half when hopefully there will be more parity between his lack of match-fitness and the fatigue factor in the game itself.

If there's been one game where the lack of real quality spoke loudest, I think it was tonight. Two big mistakes. First, Palhinha lets Palmer keep that ball in play and flick it inside to Neto when I'd expect ball, player and hoarding to be tackled as one. And then Muani's horrendous pass; he drifts into these ambient mental spaces which seem to take him off the pitch and into a whole other place and time. It's a shame because if he could focus, he might well be a player. Look at Fernandez; one whiff of a chance and he buries it, Palmer produces that great piece of play, Neto (a player I frankly don't especially rate) was very sharp tonight and delivered.

FWIW I believe firmly we'll squeak out of it and remain in the Prem, however the changes do have to be rung - as much off the pitch as on it.
