WHO DO YOU TRUST TO DRAG US OUT?

just read a story about Gerard's speech in that iconic ucl final in istanbul

cisse said he, Gerard, asked benitez and all the staff to leave so that he could talk to the players alone at half time

we have Cuti, he has to do that every game imho, whether he plays or not - it has to be someone that everyone would rally behind

My answer to the question is the following

Porro, Romero, Danso, VDV, Palhinha, Gray, Sarr, Gallagher, Solanke

If fit, I think Udogie, Bergval, Richi and Kulu have some big fight in them as well.

Where I have concerns is Spence, Muani, Biss and Simons for different reasons. Spence coasts and doesn't get the bit between his teeth enough. I think Muani has a flaw in his personality where he isn't always up for it. I'm less worried about Simons but we can see the hot and cold thing.

We also need Vic to grow up and focus on being a calm leader in this setup. He's almost operating as one of the U21's at the moment.

Tudor has a dilemma though. His system seems to need some ball players. We've seen already a dependency on the RCB and LCB to be involved in the play. We also need a ball progresser in midfield. On his day, Biss is way better than Gallagher in that capacity especially in deep areas. I'm not sure Connor is getting benched though.

I think you're correct: Tudor can't really afford to antagonise the players so, ideally, you'd want someone from within the squad to tell the harsh truths. Does anyone have the balls to do that? Romero's the first name that springs to mind but my guess is, he's got that 'us vs them' mentality - in this case, us the players vs them the management.

Richarlison looks like an emotional guy but not necessarily confrontational. Youngsters usually don't command much respect in a dressing room. Maddison's attitude was suspect when Leicester went down. Maybe someone like Ben Davies? His playing days are practically over and if he wants to go into coaching, he should be interested in stepping in.

Some of the others might lead by example but I'm not sure they've got the experience or respect needed to change the team's current mindset.

I think the squad love Davies, but they don''t see him as the badass in there. He can't just change persona after all these years of being Mr Nice Guy. He is probably someone that they go to one-on-one. Perhaps the manager could use him in that sort of capacity though.

I still think Porro can be the shouty one. Rattle some cages.

To be honest, at this stage, I don't care who it is - and, in any case, we can only speculate since we're not privy to what happens behind the scenes - so long as someone does.

Tudor seems to be trying to restore a measure of confidence so he can't give them a kick up the backside at the same time. Some managers have an coach for that but I don't think he does. Someone will have to step up.

Didn’t Richarlison go on a goal scoring run to keep Everton up?

And I think we desperately need Kulusevski back but no idea when he is due to return.

Danso, Palinha, Bergvall.

If he’s fit and on the pitch, Richy has the right attitude…. It’s the first bit that can be the problem.

Maybe the Pigeon shall finally repay that £60m transfer fee… as at least he’s already been through this and survived…

Richarlison's final season at Goodison Park saw him amass 10 goals and five assists in 30 Premier League outings, ultimately helping Frank Lampard's side avoid a first-ever relegation from the Premier League.

The South American struggled with knee and calf injuries for a good chunk of the term, though, and he is keen to put that chapter behind him as he embarks on a new adventure in North London. "It was a very stressful season, to be honest. We had a lot of injuries and the squad wasn't big enough to cope.” he added.

Apparently this (currently out of contract) Dele Alli fella was also instrumental in Everton avoiding the drop that season… cheeky bid?!
