Ive Put Ekitike in for fantasy......think we know how this goes.Wirtz must be rubbing his hands together as we are the team that keep giving gifts out and Christmas is just around the corner.
What has Eze done since our game??

Bentancur isn't the main problem, it's the system, he has no options because we are set up so conservatively when we have the ball.I listened to The Extra Inch today and heard them comparing stats between Bentancur, Phalinha and other central midfielders - basically describing Bentancur as "coward" as he always chooses the safe option, he basically never progresses the ball either by foot or by pass. Same with Phalinha, but he's meant to be a destroyer, of course, and does that job well. It's baffling that we have started so many games with those two on the pitch together (or with Bentancur in particular).
I think we need to get a midfielder able to pass and progress the ball, as well as withstand pressure, in for Bentancur - should be a main priority in Jan, if we can get one in.
Without Madders and Kulusevski our midfield is woeful at the moment.. Only Bergvall and Simons can break foreward and beat a man to create space, but the latter is still a work in progress while Simons is coming to terms with the speed and time you have in the PL.But there is no risk in any of our passing, it's all safe. We're never going to progress that way. While our midfield isn't world class it's also not that bad that it can't play forward. It's also about getting a system embedded into the team. Even if it's not going to work 100% with the players we have now, at least the whole team won't have to learn a new system when we get the type of midfielder that Frank wants in order to be more brave.
Sorry Bergvall= formerWithout Madders and Kulusevski our midfield is woeful at the moment.. Only Bergvall and Simons can break foreward and beat a man to create space, but the latter is still a work in progress while Simons is coming to terms with the speed and time you have in the PL.
Id try and get Scott McTominay. He was criminally underated at Manure.
Bentancur will only make a pass if it is 99% certain to reach its target. Thus he nearly always plays a VERY safe, short pass backwards.Bentancur isn't the main problem, it's the system, he has no options because we are set up so conservatively when we have the ball.
That caution is then also leading to turnovers imo. Players being more concerned about being in the right position if we lose the ball than being in a position to receive it and go forward. To me the caution came first.I wouldn't say we never play the ball forward, but from what I've been seeing recently, to a first approximation, a forward pass equals a turnover, which is why I think he has tended to be so cautious in his approach. What's a bit worrying is that, if anything, that appears to have got worse as time's gone on, rather than better.
To be fair he played reserves and kids, not first teamers, as his next game is in less than 48 hours.Maybe this bloke is the one for us. Seems to have all the credentials, such as blowing a home lead in the Conference League against a Finnish side no one has ever heard of.
Now that’s very Tottenham!

Why would anyone want a guy who's taken Frankfurt to win the Europa League, Crystal Palace to win the FA Cup, lose their best player and be battling for Champions League places....
The whole point he did it was that they will still easily qualify - He hasn't thrown the competition at all....If it was our coach there would be uproar that we'd thrown the competition and not taken it sersiously.

If we buy creative midfielders then in 3-4 months time there's going to be an issue with Maddison and Kulu back. There is likely a thought process that goes along the lines of Madders and Kulu being the now, Bergvall and Gray being the future, and therefore bringing a midfielder in overloads that area when everyone is fit.I know what I think is needed
A left back would be massive
Said it loads
Beyond that a ball playing CM, Anderson would be the signing of throw the money at big I’m not convinced he would want to play here currently
The rumours are he is focussing on more attackers. I don’t know if that’s true but that feels mad to me as we have no way of getting the ball to the with the players we have today unless we’re gonna go route 1, which can work with the right players
Not arguing the overall point as I tend to agree with overall quality of the squad, but since the start of the 23/24 season there’s been 92 games, not 82. That table is skewed to remove the good start under Ange, what does it show if we include that?

I'm not saying this is right, but I wonder if that is why we are focused the way we are.
We're in a relegation battle now. I read it on here.we have won 1.33 points per game in the last 100 games.
That's mid table not bottom six or even relegation form. Relegated teams rarely get more than 0.7 points per game.
