Pedro Porro

I thought he had a great game
And after a few poor ones I’m pleased
He always shows for the ball
To me a bit too hit and miss on the ball to call it a great game, but definitely improved on some of his recent worse performances.

He always shows for the ball. He always willing to play with risk, try the difficult thing, be ambitious on the ball instead of passing the responsibility to someone else. And when on his game he has the quality to make the difference in situations like that too.

Not the best defender, but there too he doesn't just backtrack, he doesn't hide, he gets close to people and defends with intensity, accepting that sometimes he will be beaten. Several times he's looked second best in his duel early on against a really good winger, stuck at it and put in an overall good/decent performance defensively too.

We need more players like him. Luckily some of the younger players seem to be in a similar mould.

I think we've seen Porro's ceiling last season when it was all out attack.
With TF balancing out the game with more defensive duties his weaknesses are causing problems.
Realistically we can upgrade fairly easily in this role, but its not a priority position to upgrade yet - at least he is fit and available most times! Injuries are serverely limiting our performances for the second season in a row

Spence is the defensive upgrade, we just can never use him like this due to Udogie's persistent niggling injuries. If we get a LB in then Spence will get a chance to really show what he's capable of on the right. It should really be a horses for courses situation between Spence and Porro and ideally the same on the left with new guy + Udogie assuming he's fit and available at the time.

If you want an attacking RB, Porro's bloody great. Good engine, great cross and, as you point out, good injury record.

As @Bishop points out, we've got Spence as a more defensive RB option. Rotating between 3 or 4 players as each match requires would be living the dream, as far as I'm concerned. As opposed to having to pick whichever two are fit, as happens now.

It’s why we need that left sided additional player

am i the only one that believes that spence can develop his attacking game on the right?

No I agree he has all the attributes that also suit an attacking RB, it's just in a different to Porro. Porro is all about the distance through ball or the early cross. They are both equally adept at providing the support run but Spence is more likely to beat his man 1 to 1 and drive directly into the box. The truth is we've just never really had the opportunity to see Spence given a run there to see how well he can perform. For me I don't think it's a case of either of them supplanting the other, it's a great position to be in to have 2 different quality options. It's one of the areas this squad is actually strong in.

Im sure he can and it’s his side of play too for most of his career
He has had great games in the left and some anonymous ones too
For me we have to have more left footers in the squad and team as it’s a balance that when missing really hurts us

Two different attacking qualities, Spence is about pace and taking up the yards with the ball, Porro relies on quality on the ball. Both are attacking though
Both are poor, Spence can't attack and has no final ball. Porro has a good cross on him but fails to cross it when we have 2 CF in the box. Porro's decision making isn't great and Spence's are no existent. Porro is always getting targeted because he is not very good defensively and Spence jogged back every time we lost the ball. Both are not good enough and we need to upgrade.

Also Kudus was a waste of money aswell.
