I don't think either VDV or Romero are really Elite CB's if i am honest. I think Danso is a better out and out defender than both of them. VDV has pure pace which helps him massively and when Romero actually passes accurately he is a top passer, they are the only things they edge Danso on. I would like to see Danso and Romero play in CB and have VDV play left back when we have to rotate Udogie.
 
It’s getting to the stage where he needs to be a LB/LWB for me. He is so dangerous, very similar to how Bale broke out. Get Vuskovic back and then we’ve got a good setup:

VDV Danso Romero Porro
Udogie Vuskovic Dragusin Spence

Seriously??? Not elite CBs???

There is always a benchmark I use to ask if a player is an elite footballer. If we make him available on transfer, would the Real Madrids, Barcellonas, Bayern Munich and Manchester Citys be in for him?

Suggest you ask that question about those two....

The same teams that have signed Ake, Dier, Lenglet etc? VDV and Romero are not even the best CB’s at Tottenham.

VVD has fudged up every single week this season, and have only got off lightly because they won in the beginning. Now he's getting a bit of scrutiny, but he's still considered elite, if not the best.
But as it stands, both Romero and VDV are better than Virgil "ass dance" van Dijk

VVD is coming to the end of his career and when he was Romero’s age he was the best in the business. VDV is still at the early end of his career so could become Elite. Romero is hitting his prime and i feel he is too much of a liability.

Well, your feeling isn't actually backed up by anything substantial, and this liability hasn't really shown in years! He doesn't get sent off anymore, don't have any errors leading to goals, so I really don't know what that liability is.

If any post ever highlighted the lengths people go to justify their argument - even when so obviously OTT - these two get very close to taking the prize....

Simply mind boggling...
 
I’ll stick to my opinion even if the majority do not agree with it. Romero and VDV don’t get in the top 10 CB’s in world football right now.

Saliba, Dias, Bastoni, Murillo. Any others you'd put ahead of them? I think a lot of the old guard like van Dijk have dropped off that list now.
