Rodrigo Bentancur

I was expecting him to be next on the list.
Hopefully we can add a few more players, and all these new contracts it's looking like a good window
 
These 2 new contracts means the wages to turnover ratio is going up. I just hope we crash out of the CL at the first stage so it doesn't come down again. 8-)
 
Would definitely be good news.

At his best he's a classy player. May not have seen that consistently since before his injury, but he's still good. And I think one reason we haven't seen that has been due to tactics and the role he's been playing.

With Palhinha in I think he'll play more in a role suited to him and I'm excited to see what he can do there under Frank. Obviously a lot of excitement around the younger players, and rightly so. But I think and hope Bentancur can have a great season now.

He was the standout for me. It didn't look like he was ever returning to his previous really good levels pre injury, but back end of last season there were signs and he's continuing this season and was still full of running at the end....
 
Agreed he did really well. Still don't think he's a natural in that deepest midfield role. Weren't able to properly adjust to that last season over time, maybe this season in a different system he could make steps in that direction?

Even if he doesn't he's certainly not a bad option for that role, good to have Palhinha as an additional option. And good to have that versatility with Bentancur being able to play both the 6 and 8 roles.
