Brennan Johnson

Exactly this, it's been said in my pals group, oh he is a tap in merchant, yes but look at the runs he makes to get there
It's an art and one he is one of the best in the PL at doing
Absolutely. And he's been doing that for several years now, opponents should be very aware of it. Yet he keeps getting it right. Having that threat should open up space for others if we can exploit it.

Still want him to improve and hope he can do that. But labelling him a tap in merchant is at best harsh imo.

And even to the extent it's true being a goalscoring merchant has to be one of the most useful merchants to have.

but on 57 minutes, he had options to pass or cross, we had more men forward then Emirates Marketing Project had back, and he went for a shot which went sky wide - TF was furious coz Johnson had Richy, Sarr running in, and Bentancur to pass to and it was a wasted opportunity

My thoughts as well he is really underated by some, he has just turned 24 as well so there is plenty of time to improve his overall game.

Goals like yesterday might appear fairly simple, but watch his run - he had to bust a gut to get into that position....

Seriously? Is that what we are now resorting to? So shall we start crucifying Spence who should have passed to Kudus 5 yards from an open goal but opted to shoot from an impossible angle....

Does that diminish how good Spence has been?

I haven't been crucifying Spence, i have been defending him - read my earlier posts before you come flying in. Ask @Bishop

However, he does need to be more aware, he would be even more devastating, and i believe he is clever enough and open to improving

I didn't say that... my point was that it is ludicrous to just point out a single mistake that Brennan did... and used Spence as an example. Could have referred to Vic's brain f*rt as well. Just because they made a mistake doesn't take away how good they played... neither in the case of Johnson.

Not sure why Brennan gets so much flak from fans, averages a goal every 4 games in the PL , record so far 105 matches , 26 goals , not as good as say Salah but pretty good when compared to other wide players in the PL.

Gets in to Deeney's team of the week on the Beeb,
Brennan Johnson (Tottenham): He was fantastic again. He looks like he's going to have an unbelievable season because Kudus is going to take a lot of the focus of the teams coming from that right-hand side on that left foot. The pace and power he shows is unbelievable. That's two in two for Johnson. I thought he was excellent against Emirates Marketing Project.

no of course not, but no player would be satisfied with staying as they are, they, and we as fans, want them to develop - i just pointed out a moment where he can improve in the future if it, or a similar situation, arises - with TF i'm sure BJ will continue to grow

overall, what he gives to this team is invaluable imho, he has such a good and calm finish in him

Clearly Deeney is not a poster on GG :tearsofjoy:
