Aren't journalists themselves inherently aggregators? It's not like they create original content (excepting long form journalists), they just compile information from divers places.

Yeah, more or less. I guess some of them have unique contacts, but most of the time either all of them get the same stuff, or someone gets a scoop, and all of the others just follow suit. Being a sports journalist is a pretty lame job nowadays, it seems.

Not sure if posted already but saw somewhere that the Greek oik was tinkled off because MGW was meant to be a part exchange with City rather than just a straight transfer and him wanting to go to us was spoiling that, rather than anything genuinely to do with contracts and clauses.

Not sure the fact that he is Greek is relevant. By all means call him an Oik.

But I don’t think there is need for “Greek Oik” at all.

Call him Cúnt all you want but his nationality has nothing to do with it so maybe leave it out.

Fair enough. The Greek was meant as an identifier rather than a derogatory but isn't needed.

Where his nationality does come in is that in his home country he has ruled the roost and got away with loads
He thinks that can happen in other countries with the way he has acted at forest

Do we know for sure the owner got involved? I don't see it mentioned anywhere. Everything is stated in terms of the club reneging, not Marinakis. Not that it isn't plausible that he's behind it, but it's interesting that his name isn't mentioned anywhere other than Spurs' forums speculating he is.
The reports I've seen from the Nottingham Forest side of things claimed it was Marinakis himself he has vetoed the deal. Now how they know the ins and outs I don't know I don't know if they are creditable but this is narrative outside of Spurs forums as well.

Yes. Because they thought spurs had triggered the release clause so the deal was basically done. Forest then said no.

We don't know what was said between spurs and forest. We don't know what the contract says. It's speculation on our part. We need to keep that in mind and not get carried away with what we "think" might have happened.

I’m not sure what you’re responding to exactly.

The journos for each club have their line that they put out. The Forest tone definitely changed from one day to the next, that’s all I’m saying. Not claiming anything definitively happened other than that.

You litterally said that forest thought the deal was good until the owner got involved. That is speculation. You don't know that for a fact.

I read an article suggesting he may be involved in a massive heroin smuggling operation and subsequent murders and cover ups. Scary stuff. Levy should watch his back.

blackmail and match fixing too. on the other hand, levy was found out attempting corporate espionage at West Ham during the tussle for the Olympic Stadium

Ok! But I was going by the Forest journos and the line they were putting out. I’m sure I mentioned that in my first post on the subject. I wasn’t claiming any special insight. Merely looking to discuss an interesting and unique situation.

Did you read the Forest journos on the day Romano Here We Go’d it? Did you read them the next day? What did you think about the change in tone? That’s all I’m talking about,

It's one thing to say that Forest's valuation is £60m, but another that there's a £60m release clause, though.

🤫 it intimates that it’s a secret and is enough to show the information was out there a year ago. If this dude is tweeting it then who else has this information?

It shows the info isn’t confidential.

Haha, there's always one "but it's a forum!" person (it's often you)

Tbf it's not like there's a bunch of people stomping around gloryglorysplaining the inner workings of the transfer window. On the whole it's an open discussion on a curious case.

The transfer itself is an interesting move that not many predicted and how it's unfolding is particularly intriguing. There's very little else going on in the football world apart from the women's Euros. If it seems like discussion for discussion's sake, that's kind of the name of the game in the off season; nothing means brick until it's confirmed on the OS (even Romano in this case) but that won't stop us!

In my completely unbiased opinion, Levy is a monster of morality and the way our club operates would never allow us to do anything underhand, because we are a squeeky clean shining beacon who can do no wrong. However, Forest are bad guys (not just for having the audacity to finish above us) and should give us their player for less than the reported release clause because their chairman is a villain. Furthermore, the FA should give us a 5 goal headstart in all fixtures because we do things the right way.

Well if you don’t like what is posted don’t reply or add to the thread. I remember saying that I wasn’t that bothered about the women’s game and you chimed in with similar drivel.

I won’t even mention anything about postecoglu or why people have an opinion about people being overweight in a professional sport.

Yeh its the summer, its a slow news one really and things are taking their time in general (Mbuemo deal is a LONNNNNNG one too)

My mind shifts on it almost hourly, but overall I think the deal happens, on what timescale that is now, who knows, they go on tour Monday which is not the blocker it used to be but you wonder if it makes things happen..........or not.

I am now getting more curious on what we are doing away from this now TBH

I am kinda glad KWP has gone to West Ham and its put to bed one of the longest rumour sagas since the Sock

It the same sort of view the world takes of Brits, we're judged by the actions of drunk football fans and holiday makers along with the crimes of the ruling classes.
