That's encouraging; implies the mood is good in the camp, and players see it as a decent place to be/grow. Also, his parents are clued up, and they didn't push back on it.

Presumably his wage has gone from pittance to mildly tasty.

Can’t think of a single other candidate*.

*Spence being ignored for half the season ruled him out imo, not his fault, just not at many eligible games.
 
There are not many highlights for us this season or reasons to be encouraged for the future but he has been a beacon of light for us. For one so young he has shown what it takes to stand tall and play to his ability and i am personally looking forward to seeing him become a top player in our shirt. Well done son.

We used to have a tiered model for youth players, after x amount of games it was almost an auto offer to next salary bracket.

Of course in his case, it's probably a little more than that.
