James Maddison

Made himself bigger
Player gets the ball first
Keeper takes out the player
It’s the same as sliding in for a tackle and not the attacker getting there first but his touch may hit you… you’re still taking the attacker out and it’s a foul. We have a history of doing that

This.
Slide in a block the ball but carry on and clean the player out it's foul.

Maybe someone will correct me but I'm not aware of other than handling the ball goalkeepers having different rules than outfield players.

I must admit i am not his biggest fan but he played well last night.

Weirdly for me, I think he's exactly the kind of player a top team would have as "not their main man", if you could have Maddison in competition with someone, as depth/rotation, it would say a lot about the squad.

We lost our way a little after he came off, not sure if we would have that much if his replacement was Bergvall.

Do not disagree really, my problem with him [ and always has been] is there is no doubt that he has the ability but sadly [ for whatever reason] he is a hot and cold type of player. On his day he is very good but on other days he just looks poor [imo] and he has been like that at his other clubs as well. My son in law is a S/T holder at Norwich and he was always saying that Maddison was the same there, he said there was no doubting his talent but he would dissapear in some games. He was the same at Leicester and he is the same here [imo].

A pity that Bergvall and Kulusevski seem to be taking it in turns with Maddison to get injured, as the Swedes have been more consistent but Dejan looks well off the pace since his layoff.
