*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Ipswich Town FC ***

For me this is a big test of consistency. We had a credible home performance against a team we should beat last week and now we go to an away game against a relegation zone team. This is exactly where Spurs have floundered in the past, even with Ange in charge. Guys like our captain are notorious for disappearing in these games, even though he might nick a goal.

We have a very expensively assembled squad and should have enough depth to manage a few that aren't quite 90 mins fit. We did last weekend. I'm hoping that we have normalised now to not having some key centre halves and centre forwards missing. 2 from Danso, Davies and Gray should get the job done. Same as all the attacking players we have available without Richi and Solanke.

Today is about getting the job done, even if it is winning ugly.
 
Was there any press conference for this one? Anymore injury updates? Bentancur, Danso and Son all picked up what looked like injuries last week, are they are fine?

Seems like they are fine and it's the same squad as last week.

Rodrigo Bentancur, Kevin Danso and Son Heung-min are available despite being forced off in Tottenham's win against Manchester United last Sunday.

Radu Dragusin, Richarlison, Cristian Romero, Dominic Solanke and Micky van de Ven remain out.

Doom merchant here. This is exactly the kind of game we lose, bullied off the ball, avoiding tackles, style without substance etc etc. I hope i'm wrong- it would be great to see a coherent style of play backed up by quality performances from the away team...but if i was putting money on it, I'd back Ipswich. Maybe one for Bissouma to prove his worth?

Today is a tougher task on paper than last week. Ipswich are nothing special but they are fighting for their lives, they've already beaten us once and have a plan of of action against us that they know can be successful. Beyond that, this is a match they have to be going into thinking they can or must get something from both due our own poor form along with that pulling us back into the scrap. I'd hope for a win but this season you never know what to expect with Spurs, it's typically pretty poor tbh and these are the kind of matches that often cause us issues regardless of our own form.

I don't think the club is desperate the fans are. I often wonder if any fans wanting to pay any price have every bought a high value product and paid the asking price, they must be a sellers dream.

I think the fact that we’re sitting where we are in the league suggests we haven’t got our transfer strategy right this year. (Some might say yet again.)

It’s looking like this time that may well have been about preparing for sale/takeover, so hopefully some good will come of it.

That's a fair point but I'd argue that we really need a bounce and beating a team in the bottom three would be a step in the right direction. Plus, I've given up on Postecoglou but I still secretly hope he will prove me wrong and win the last 13 games of the season and the Europa League to boot!
