    I'm sure there's plenty in it, but George Monbiot has been prediciting imminent climate apocalypse for about 35 years now. I find it hard to take him seriously - which is not a good thing, I fear.

    Why would he step down now? Labour are going to get a pasting in the locals - at some point after that he will be the fall guy. And I wouldn’t go pinning much hope on Burnham; he’s an opportunist who will find the reality of governing to be a huge shock imo.
