    International Break September/Ocobter 2026 Thread

I'm already dreading the return of the PL. I'll have to find something to distract myself from 5.00 next Saturday. I've loved watching England, Wales and N.Ireland doing well in their games safe in the knowledge that I don't really care if it goes 'T.U'.

    Tottenham Hotspur Women

Crystal Palace did have a player sent off after about 10 minutes. After that they just sat it a 'low block' and tried to hold on. Once it got to about 4-0 they pretty much lost all shape and defensive discipline.

I was told that they have been given a week off!

Well they come from the same village so you know, it's nice

    Jan Paul van Hecke

I think his reputation as a great defender is almost entirely built on the days under Ange when he was using his pace to catch and tackle a forward that was otherwise clear through.

***OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Aston Villa***, PL, Sat 19th Sept 2026

Good wishes to all those still able to scrape up some positivity. I'm not one of them. 5 games or 50 games in, I think we're fudged and I fully expect us to be in a relegation fight again and even more likely to actually go down than last season. I had a bad feeling about RDZ from the start but...

***OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Aston Villa***, PL, Sat 19th Sept 2026

Fed up with managers who talk a much better game than they actually deliver. "It will come", "We'll be alright", "It will just take time", "They have a good manager and good players". I don't really believe it.

    The Cricket Thread

I watched the match against Warwickshire on YouTube. Desperate stuff but it feels like they have had the guts ripped out of them with injuries and the unexpected recall of Harmer to South Africa. I still hope they manage to cling on to Div 1 this season but they are going to need some big...

***OMT - Tottenham Hotspur v Everton***

I think we should definitely take off the players we don't like however they are playing and replace them with players that have been injured for months, are still injured or don't even play for the club any more. It's probably also about time to start suggesting that RDZ is a useless fraud and...

    Mason Melia

Sorry for the lad but I'm not sure that it matters that much. Having watched Lincoln a couple of times this season and seen how they play with a 6ft 8 striker and 'robust' approach, I'm not sure Mason would be getting much game time. I read that their manager said something along the lines that...

***OMT - Tottenham Hotspur v Everton***

I can't remember when I had 'good vibes' about a Spurs PL game but that probably says even more about me than it does Spurs (my grandson predicts a win for every single match). I've got 0-1.

    Richarlison

I read that under an agreement between FIFA and FIFPRO, the global players union, forcing players to train alone or with the 'reserves' can be justification to terminate a contract but possibly with the compensation due for the remaining period of it. That would mean that Richy could walk away...

    Richarlison

Apparently there's a rumour in Brazilian media that Richy is going to take legal action to force Spurs to cancel his contract so that he can join Vasco de Gama. I suspect if he offered to walk away for nothing we'd bite his arm off but by 'cancel' he probably means 'pay up' his contract.

Pat Jennings (don’t panic he’s fine!)

With hindsight it definitely was. However in the season before he left he was injured for some time and his replacement Barry Daines was really good. Ultimately, it was the wrong decision to move him on but arguably we were creating the space to develop his successor. Perhaps I lacked a more...
