Thomas Frank - Head Coach

You couldn’t make this brick up.
We’ve won 2 games in the last 14. 3 points from a run against Forest, Brentford, Sunderland, Bournemouth, West Ham and Burnley. Our football is dire. But it’s all ok because Frank is doing a great job and nobody else could do better. He’s a great manager because blah blah blah Brentford and something about Mbueno.

Agree. It’ll be better with Mason, or the bloke from Ajax we’ve just appointed (nobody knows his name yet, but who gives a shi t?), although Stelllini or the absolute genius that is Tim Sherwood would be even better.

Anyone but Frank, actually. Is Redkapp really keen? And if he’ll do it for free, we just need Sandra and the family to make sure he’s not due at the drop in centre on training days.

Klinnsman’s been out of the game for a decade, but he would be great too. Or maybe Roy Coyle - check out what he did in the Irish league. Okay, his care home may put restrictions on his hours of availability for training and games, but I’m sure he could be freed up for Saturday afternoons.

So many options it’s hard to settle on just one, isn’t it?

I think this is the issue. You can't give any manager a free pass for a whole season. You cannot write off an entire season without seeing steady improvement. Our defending is still a joke. Our attack slightly better now we have more injuries but I believe that's more due to the a better midfield selection than the attacking options.

The last two games have been good but why did it take it getting down to bare bones for these to happen. I'm not talking about games with only one good half - those are pointless to then go and throw the game away.

Our best performances have come with midfielders who play on the front foot, or at least look to move the ball into attack quicker. That's the last two games when Bents and Palinha have not been available. Too many times they both play together -not sure how the data doesn't show the transition is slow.

The last two games are the first time since the beginning of the season that we have put together back to back good performances. Should be two wins out of two. I don't care about one missed chance, in this game we genuinely had plenty of good chances. Too many games we were pragmatic, boring, and lamenting one missed chance. That TF I don't want at this club. The TF from the last two games, yes let's see what happens - I still don't think he is the right person, but if he starts backing the squad to play then I'll easily change my mind.

Exactly .. it's always the same story

- Our players are brick and we don't do enough going forward, well just fudging maybe don't play 3 CBs against one of the worse teams in the PL, don't play a RB as your LW instead of an actual left sided attacking player, have some attacking pattern instead of spamming crosses into the box when your 1 CF is not even there.

This is the same brick United fans said with ETH & Amorim, interim comes in, team suddenly looks like it is coached.

Nobody says this team is prime 16/17 Spurs but yes, someone/anyone could do a better job than 2 games in 15 and constant failure against the bottom 6 sides.

And if Lange & Vinai don't have a replacement already lined up for the last month, they should fudging go with him

Love those 'supporters' who probably didn't watch the game and are so fast to get on and post down with Frank. Especially the Ange-lamenters who have undermined Frank from day one. They are a special kind of divisive non-supporter.

Mate, this is just absolute garbage and makes you look really silly. I was up til 2am watching that brick. So yes. I definitely fudging did watch it.

I can't conceive that we shouldn't expect to have taken 3 points from Burnley, 3 from WHU , especially at home, and taken more from Brentford and Sunderland.
We could easily be sitting in a European place just now.

I admit I don't watch much football outside of Spurs, but we do seem to have at least one or two brain farts per game, as well as messing up plenty big chances. I can't remember any other team we've faced being so error prone in front of either goal.
Or them giving us the can’t miss opportunities such as Burnley’s first.

Haha you watched the game 👏 wow! It’s conspicuous that you didn’t comment on the part of the post that is pertinent to you. Since day one you’ve been anti Frank because you didn’t want the antipodean sacked, now can’t wait to get on here and call for his head.

You didn’t think we were the better side and from your post I’m guessing you thought we were pretty terrible again?

You accused me of commenting without watching the game, so yes, that's the part I responded to.

I thought we played pretty well. Created some decent chances and should have won. But for as good as a draw against 19th placed Burnley is, that's not why I want him sacked. This form is why I want him sacked. It's only confirmed what I believed about him from before he was appointed. I believe Thomas Frank is a very good coach and in his next job will probably show it again. I just do not believe he is a fit for Spurs and what we want.

It's nothing to do with the previous manager, though it does make it harder to accept that we sacked the guy who finished 5th and won a European trophy only to end up here.

I didn’t want him. I thought he was a bad fit for us as a club, and even worse given the squad had just won a European trophy. I said it at the time. What have you seen in the meantime that you think would make me change my mind?
But to be honest you were lauding Postecoglu like he was the second coming.

My big problem here is that I’m going into games here at the moment assuming we’ll lose. I assumed we would lose against Burnley, West Ham and Bournemouth. That shows where the level of expectation has dropped to.

We’ve been on a massive decline for years now and it’s really hard to accept just how we’ve fallen, and it’s on the entire club, we’ve let world class players leave and replaced them with mediocre dross. We’ve tried to play football according to the accountants bottom line.

It’s simply not good enough across the board. I don’t know what the answer is manager wise, because I couldn’t tell you someone at the moment that I would bring in (Alonso not realistic for me) but we have to change something (a lot in fact), because we’re on a trajectory where we find ourselves in the championship within the next few seasons here.

Agreed that this performance in isolation was fine. We were a bit unlucky not to win. I don't think we've been unlucky overall this season, but I have asked before (when imo we were still a bit lucky with results compared to performances) what will happen when we get a period when we're unlucky with results (will almost always happen across a season imo).

Is being the better team against a Burnley team that looks very likely to get relegated and that was winless in 13 (having only beaten Sunderland, Leeds and Wolves this season) us turning a corner, improving?

Spot on. If they dont, I would say that is a dereliction of duty on their behalf
