Re; Ange's comments about winning things in his second season - take twenty seconds to Google it, then come back and correct the record.

They're a strange club. They got Icardi and Osimhen which was mega, then Icardi got an ACL injury and is out til summer, so Osimhen is the man, then they had oldies like Zaha Ziyech Lemina and Morata but they shipped some of them straight back out again, I can't remember who is still there.
So they do have some players that WERE excellent, but THFC should be able to give them a proper good game IF our players are fit.

He should have started Bergvall and Gray in midfield, with Bents as the veteran in there. Sarr and Bissouma are just brick. All 3 of those starters need upgrading though. Hope we ve seen the last of Richy too.
Im sure if we hadnt got the 2 new players in in that last few days Ange wouldve been sacked after this no show.
I think he ll limp on now till the end of the season unfortunately .

I think it’s more the inference he made, he has historically always won stuff in his second season ( I have no idea of this is true or not) and therefore why would this season be any different.
I think that’s the impression he wanted to give, which wasn’t a wise choice.

The media spun “I always win something in my 2nd season” to “I’m going to win something here in my 2nd season”. He stated a fact that got twisted and people lapped up the latter version.

Big difference between 'have always', 'previously always' and 'always' though.
If I say I always leave for work at 07:00 the inference is that I will in the future. If I say I have always that infers I may not in the future.
From what he said it's a natural deduction that he meant he will again. It's not like English is his second language or anything.

GHod is such a fůcking low-level debate anyway. Who cares? What difference would it make if he got up and said "I'm going to win all 4 competitions this season"? You might think he's a bit mad but...does it make us any better/worse at football?

If he's being questioned about his tactics and he says he always wins, that's potentially showing a mindset of someone closed off to alternatives. It can't be wrong cause I've proved that it always works previously so it's going to work again.
The use of language can never be pointless, especially when your job is to communicate. I don't have an issue with what he said, but it's clear what he meant.

the pressing, when existent, is horrid. the midfield set up and selection is awfull. there are huge gaps between our lines, players are horribly isolated and there's zero coheison. that's where players make mistakes snd seemingly can't find passes.

I'm afraid he's out of ideas, and should be out of time.

He's simply playing the same way, but moving the positions of the players, but not the tactic.
There was no need for Sarr to be Usain Bolting it up the pitch yesterday or Davies to play that pass. But we continually tried to play quickly in a game where we were under immense pressure. The job is to kill the game, control the ball when you get it and probe. We as usual we're playing basketball against a team with an organised press.

And the 3 times we have met, score line is 10-4. And we still gotta go back to theirs in April. Where I'm guessing if Ange is still in charge we still will have 9 players missing and still no clue what to do whilst there.
Yes I get it. There are so amazing and we never win there. But we have put in better performances and times should have even won, if not for some luck or just a decent ref.

We are not winning that cup with him in charge. We don't even have to face a "pool" we struggled against Elfborg until late and Tamworth, Rangers, Gala.....anyone who hassles us. Wins
