So, to summarise, on the day we announce we have injury problems with 3 centre backs, we loan out one....clever!

Could we maybe keep this stickied throughout the season, so we can all keep an eye on how our youngsters are doing at other clubs? It would then take place of the ITK and 'linked with' thread?

Alnwick has gone to Norwich on a 3 month loan deal

Troy Archibald-Henville has joined Exeter City on loan for six months.

The central defender spent the second half of last season at St James Park, making 19 appearances for the then League Two club, helping them secure promotion to League One.

& there was me thinking we had a central defender injury crisis!

Looks like Gio might go to Ipswich again. Interesting comment about turning up on time...

    BluesWeb.co.uk:

Tottenham wideman or striker Giovani Dos Santos could return to Portman Road according to reports this morning.
The Mexican scored four goals for Town at the tail end of last season after joining on loan, and had initally been expected to join Espanyol in the close season.

However the move has still not gone ahead for the former Barcelona player and it has been reported that Town boss Roy Keane is attempting to secure the player on loan for another spell, believed to be until the end of the season.

Speaking of the chances of Gio returning to Portman Road, Keane said: "I spoke to Harry Redknapp about Gio when he was here last year.

"They know they get looked after and they know they are coming to a real club and a manager that will make sure that they will train properly and be on time. That hopefully helps in our dealing with any Premier League teams."

I'd love for that to happen. I really think Ipswich have a strong chance of getting promoted this year. With Keane at the helm it (pause) appears they are moving in the right direction.

You could tell he liked Gio's playing style when he was there last time - When he came off injured, Keane made sure he gave him a handshake & a hug as he left the field.

And if the rumours of him partying and not training are true, I'm sure Keane will give him a good disciplinary lesson, which will be beneficial to Ipswich, they'll get the best out of him, Us, he'll come back 'a changed man', and the player, obviously loaded with potential, needs guidance in realising this.

Really hope this happens - I'll be going to a fair few ITFC games again this season (as I have said previously, I tend to go to several with my step-dad who is a massive fan and lives in the area) so will be able to update you on how he's doing.

Updated with Walker to Sheff Utd.

I just watched a reasonably entertaining 0-0 draw between Boro and Shef Utd. Walker played 90 mins at right back up against Adam Johnson (who is like a good version of Downing) and Yeates who both played well and kept swapping sides. Walker has got pace but needed it at times to get himself out of trouble. Lucky not to have given away a penalty in the second half. Keeping Johnson quiet is no mean feat though so on that basis I'd give Walker a 7/10.

Both Steven Caulker and Ryan Mason in the starting line up for Yeovil against Tranmere.

It seems Mason plays central midfield.

Mason won a penalty for Yeovil. Townsend and Troy didn't get off the bench.

Button played for Crewe. Button is shit.

apparently Caulker played a blinder today and their fans hope they get him for the season
