After reading the 'Burn a Koran' thread (and not wishing to hijack it) the post on there got me wondering...

Do you think we should have left Saddam in power?

Pro's - Iraq would be stable, no loss of allied forces lives

Cons - dubious leadership, sunni oppression of shi'ite muslims (I think it's that way round), chemical gassing of Kurds etc

So class... Discuss;

Would there have been fewer deaths by leaving him in power than have occured in removing him? Would the world be any safer? Would there still have been an upsurge in anti western feeling amoung young Muslims? Would we still have invaded afghanistan?

...Who really couldn't give a rats arse about the English national team? Honestly, I've gotten to the point where I'll watch the game if I'm about and go out of my way if we have decent opponents. But other than that I really couldn't give a toss about them. All it serves is to injure our players and dish up dissapointment. Admittedly the last two games have shown a glimmer of us playing a little attractive football, but in general it is ugly, boring and inconvenient.

It's not the mediocrity, I wouldn't still be a Spurs fan if that were the case. But in watching Spurs, I am entertained come win, lose or draw 90% of the time. Even when England get a cricket score you can only usually put together a 10 minute spell where the football was actually exciting to watch. Now, seeing Defoe and Daws go out for 2 months each, I really am fed up with English football.

Rant over, knees locked back in.

Just finished watching over the past 4 nights all 13 episodes

The first 2 episodes took a bit to get used too, the blood seemed a bit unrealistic as it seemed they used cheap graphics, yet they seemed to improve as it went on, when they say its blood thirsty it really is, the tits and arse is somewhat a pleasure but the thing that gripped me was the story of spartacus. Being a lover of the original film I have got to say that this series has somewhat fulfilled everything the film gave. The way the story dicpicted his rise in hatred was superb, the storyline involving those Romans behind his slavery was spot on as also the backstabbing lifes they led, the battles in the arena were superb and gave a realistic feel to fighting to the death.

This series was a great watch and I'm so glad I stuck past the abysmal graphics and obvious blue screen in the first two episodes, which as I said improved greatly. I now cannot wait for the new series in 2011
